What Happens, "When I Write"

When I sat down to write a poem, I started thinking about how it all happens....How do my thoughts turn into words, and those words into something I love?

So, I decided to write about that journey instead!

What Happens, "When I Write"

The moment I grab the pen in my hand,
My thoughts wrap me, like grains of sand.
My writings traverse where my thoughts reside,
From the world I was born, to the one I provide.

A world of words, my own creation,
Fueled by thirst and exploration.
My pondering mind swings free and wide,
Strengthened by the thoughts I confide.

When I’m about to let my pen take flight,
I drown in thoughts, a flood so bright.
Words rush forth, they come to my aid,
With their help, my foundation is laid.

Wizardry blooms in every inked line,
My urging ponder shapes design.
My pen persuades, yet gently steers,
It inks the page, dashing my fears.

Nature’s whispers, the foundation it gives,
My perspective of thinking breathes and lives.
Thus, my castle of writing stands tall,
At my best, I give it my all.

When time has passed, I look once more,
At the piece of writing I so adore.
My heart finds peace, a calm so true,
A belief in something fresh and new.

A discovery that grows each day,
Guiding me on my destined way.
The greatest joy and satisfaction, I see,
Comes when my words set my spirit free.

And this is the world I craft with care,
Where one’s thoughts and dreams flare.
Where deep thoughts soar, feelings ignite,
Ideas take shape in abstract light.

Circuitous musings flow and dance,
Ending in prose or poetic chance.
And that is how my thoughts take form,
Into a poem, my heart stays warm.
